Maybe “feral” is the perfect word
Notes for some poem or other
Domestication is an unnatural process, executed to advantage those in charge. The domesticated animal lives in quarters not of its choosing, attempts to follow rules not of its making and submits in exchange for satisfying basic survival needs, though slavery, cages, chemicals, abuse and eventual death in the machine of those in charge are all features of this survival. The feral animal is one released from all of this. Having escaped, its behaviours are no longer advantageous to those who would seek to control it.
Also see Feral Children for effects on language/communication, the good of dogs and packs, pack mentality, groupthink and individual cognition. Trouble with autonomy of being for feral children is rather like effects of being illiterate or of having words and language itself controlled by distant ruling class.
